Gurjun balsam, also called gurjun oil, smells woody and balsamic. In perfumery it serves as a lasting base note and scent fixative, and it is sometimes used as a woody alternative to sandalwood oil.

The oil from Indonesia is obtained from the oleoresin of trees of the genus Dipterocarpus (Dipterocarpus turbinatus). In a nebuliser it fills a room with a warm, woody mood.

How to use

In a nebuliser, use the oil undiluted, following the device instructions.

In any other use, apply it only when diluted. For skin, prepare a 1-2% solution in a carrier oil, which means 2-3 drops of essential oil per 10 ml of carrier oil.
